International School Dubai | National Curriculum of England | Sunmarke School

Our School Overview

Sunmarke is a premium educational institution in Dubai and is part of Fortes Education, a leading school provider established for more than two decades.

Sunmarke follows the National Curriculum of England offering the GCSE and the A Level programmes.

Sunmarke is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme  and pursuing authorisation as an IB World School.

IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes of international education that share a powerful vision.**

Sunmarke is also a leader in Positive Education which is a paradigm shift in global education. Positive Education (PosEd) is characterised by outstanding teaching underpinned by the science of positive psychology, wellbeing and happiness.

PosEd defines our  school culture so children flourish learning skills of ‘Academics and Achievement’, such as critical thinking, literacy and numeracy, as well as the skills of ‘Character development’ and ‘Wellbeing’, such as resilience, confidence, self-esteem, happiness, kindness, gratitude, discipline and a strong work ethic.

We cultivate a sense of purpose, character strengths, positive emotions and supportive relationships to create persons who not only become tomorrow’s leaders and innovators, but also happier, healthier, and more resilient and successful individuals.

While Sunmarke is open to all nationalities, we are a selective and academically focussed school and set high standards of student attainment.

*Only schools authorised by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its academic programmes. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org

**Mission Statement from the IB The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
