Sunmarke’s Primary curriculum in Years 3 to 6 of Key Stage 2 (KS2) aims to nurture confident and competent learners as well as good communicators. Students develop self-discipline and independence as well as respect, humility, and compassion for others.
We celebrate student achievement so students develop their self-esteem and confidence, raise the bar of their goals, and extend and build their character.
As students move through Primary School, they are exposed to more specialised resources and teaching methodologies and progammes fostering their desire to learn and allowing them to practise and master the skills and knowledge acquired so that by the time they enter Secondary School, they are independent learners confident of taking on the next challenge in their academic journey.
We employ differentiated teaching strategies to address students' individual needs. We have a strong team of subject specialists who work in close collaboration with class teachers and teach ICT (Information, Communication & Technology), Design & Technology, PE (Physical Education), Music, and a second language of Arabic or French. A third foreign language chosen from German, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian or Spanish is also be offered as part of the curriculum during or after school hours.
Students also participate in Drama, the Performing Arts and diverse co-curricular, extracurricular and sports activities, developing their personal interests and individual personalities.
