EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS)
Imagination at Play.
The Foundation Years (age 3 to 5) are some of the most crucial years of a child’s education as they lay the foundation for future development.
A typical Fortes school has an ‘Outstanding’ EYFS department as rated by KHDA’s inspection bureau, DSIB. Sunmarke will continue this tradition with an EYFS department that has nurturing teachers who provide a safe and happy environment to children ensuring that each child learns, plays, makes friends and grows.
Our Foundation Stage curriculum is multi-sensory and play-based. Play, enjoyment and challenge form the central components to our teaching and learning programme and activities. Personalised learning and a balance of adult-led and child-initiated learning are at the heart of our provision to cater to the unique learning styles and different attributes of each child.
Sunmarke also has specialist teachers for Physical Education, Music and second language like Arabic. Students can choose from a third language of German, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian or Spanish that will also be offered during or after school hours.
The Foundation Stage (FS1 and FS2) has seven specific areas of learning and development:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
