Sunmarke is bringing together the science of positive psychology with best-practice teaching and encouraging and supporting students to flourish: emotionally, socially and psychologically. The culture at Sunmarke helps support students to embrace the complexities of next-generation learning and living.
Our approach to Wellbeing is in line with our ‘Positive Education’ (PosEd) ethos as a school. It is not a programme, but rather a belief system that fosters a community of trust and restoration.
Sunmarke follows the British National Curriculum offering the GCSEs and A levels with over 25 courses to suit all career interests. We develop every child’s leadership, communication and teamwork skills as well as confidence through initiatives like the World Scholar’s Cup, Model UN for Schools, performing arts and team sports.
The abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering (digital literacy, coding), Art & Math, at Sunmarke we have a deep STEAM Learning programme, which is an integrated approach to learning that encourages students in the practice of critical thinking.
Under PosEd, Sunmarke has developed a high impact, holistic education programme called MultiSmart Learning™ that nurtures and unlocks multiple pathways to learning and develops key ‘core skills’ and ‘multiple intelligences’ triggering the all-round development.
Our teachers and senior leaders are all trained in Positive Education, best practices in education, and are selected for their inspirational teaching. They are all role models of the characters strengths – like resilience, perseverance, honesty, gratitude, bravery and more – that we nurture in students.
We have a strong Creative Learning (art & craft) and Performing Arts Curriculum (drama & dance, music, debate, public speaking, ballet, etc.), which enhances creative thinking, personal and social development, interpersonal skills, and self-esteem and confidence of every child.
